Rock music never completly goes away but in recent years, it’s been lying low. This year it’s especially exciting as rock is going through a revival phase with both classic rock and alternative sounds pulling some heavy weight to improve the options for rock music fans.
We are seeing Skater rock and punk rock making a turn back to the ears of rock fans. Psychedelic rock with dreamy synth soundscapes are popping up on playlists and even latin infused and hip hop rock are struggling to find it’s way. From where we sit, rock is present in more than 50% of the new releases coming in to our curation desk so we felt we needed to give you a taste of what we are hearing.

‘Stay Around’ by The Eaton Wash is simply beautiful. It’s emotionally charged with a melodic vocal carried on a structured rhythm that interplay’s with lovely instrumental elements. The music is interesting and keeps the listener engaged. I would love to know the story behind the music and listen to a full album of this art work. I view this as both groundbreaking and inspiring.
A new Indie Rock project by multi-disciplinary performer K.C. Maloney. The LA-based artist is also known for his more electronic leaning musical output under the moniker Adult Karate.

This song keeps delivering the more you listen to it. It’s a song that never stops bringing more to the table. Not just a single, it’s a soundtrack in one song. There are so many beautiful elements in this dreamy pop song that I enjoy. From the lovely ethereal vocal to the groovy chill lounge melodies and gorgeous synth wave layers. <read more>
The Shameless Band — Cancel Me
The Shameless Band first embarked on their musical voyage of discovery together as a tight-knit Music Band in 2019. But their origin goes back earlier to when the band members grew up listening to various musical genres that played an influential role in shaping their paths as musicians and ultimately led them to join forces.
The lead single “Cancel Me” was inspired by various moments such as cancellation of world travel, face-to-face interaction and support, postponed weddings and graduations, and restrictions on celebrating life and honoring death. <read more>

The guitar solo will make you listen much more intently and leave you wondering about this band and the artists behind it. When I first heard this single the skills of the musicians is what really caught my attention and inspired me to dig deeper.
Prisoner’s Cinema is inspired by a phenomenon of a sensory light show often experienced by people subjected to prolonged periods of darkness.
